Ever dreamt of flying in the sky, touching clouds, having the swag sitting in the cockpit, sunglasses on, looking like a hero/heroine just ready to take on all, while silently praying so no one finds out that you can’t even ride a bicycle without falling.

Well, fasten your seatbelt, Captain Sahiba/Sahab, because we are ready to take off from the cockpit of your dreams. Welcome to your smooth-skies to training– turbulence excluded, where sky’s the only limit and opportunities are unlimited.

Let’s go through step by step…..

Step 1- SPL, aka Student Pilot License ( Sky ka Learner License)

The SPL is essentially a student’s License but for flying aircraft. You can’t fly to Thailand, but you can certainly impress people by saying that, “You have a Flying License”.

Minimum Age – 16

Flying – With an instructor

Salary-NIL

Responsibility- Higher

Perks- Nonstop Flexing Potential

Step 2- Ground School ( Because you gotta know the clouds before you chase them)

Before you reach for the yoke ( that’s what they call the steering), prepare to explore the depth of topics/subjects like:-

Meteorology- (Weather ka pura report)

Air Regulations- Rules are rules, chahe dharti ho ya aakash

Navigations- You should know the path, otherwise you will land in Pakistan

Aircraft Tech- Yes, you can casually flex you are “Engineer” at social gatherings and small talk.

NOTE:- You will have to study harder than you did for competitive exams, but with clouds in your way and a mesmerizing path.

Step -3 PPL (Private PILOT License) aka Paisa bahut h

Now, you are piloting solo, finally!!! But don’t have your hopes high and think of turning it into a side hustle; this license is for passion, not turning it into a profession.

Hours needed- 40-60 hours

Salary- Zero

But now you are giving competition to the Birds.

Step – 4 Commercial Pilot License (Maa, mai pilot ban gya maa)
This is where the reality hits: 200  hours of flying, radio calls, survival calls (because sometimes GPS doesn’t help), and lastly, the only License makes you hirable.

Cost- 40-50 lakhs ( Isme ghar jayenga tera)

Return- A lifetime of aviation pride, top-tier airline roles, and a uniform that speaks confidence louder than any bio.

But don’t worry, the student loans are more loyal to you than anyone.

Steps -5 ATPL ( The final level)

Who needs a shop or a boat? Earn your title “ Captain” in the skies

ATPL makes you eligible to become the commander of the aircraft— the master of the skies. But you will need 1500 hours, seniority, and the kind of patience found in airport security queues.

Let’s see a few top flying schools….(Airtime+ Screentime)

IGRUA, Raibareily – The IIT of Pilot Training

CAE, Gondia – Indigo Cadet heaven

Captain Gopi Academy, Hyderabad – Best for budget as well as training

CA OXFORD (UAE), Embry Riddle (USA), For those jinko desh ke bahar sb acha lagta h.

The Last thoughts… Chasing Dreams Above- Grounded in Reality.

The Tag of PILOT

It’s not just about showing off or looking dashing in the cockpit, flexing on Instagram with above the clouds caption.

 It’s about:-

. Studying till your brain is caught in turbulence.

. Spending like it’s spread on your runway.

. Keep calm when GPS ghosts you.

. Remaining unshakable even at 30,000 feet when a bird challenges you.

It’s all worth it when you realize you are living your dream, flying above the clouds, and making yourself proud.
